Charles Ellis Cross was born to his father, Mitchell Cross Sr. and mother, Owedia, on the 25th day of November 2000 in Laurel, Mississippi. He is an American football offensive tackle who plays for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Cross was born and raised in Laurel, Mississippi, where he attended Laurel High School. He also played high school football at Laurel High School before committing to play college football at Florida State.
Cross de-committed from Florida State during his senior season and signed with Mississippi State. As a senior, he played in the 2018 All-American Bowl.
After appearing in three games as a true freshman, Cross redshirted his sophomore season at Mississippi State. In his redshirt freshman season, he was named the Bulldogs’ starting left tackle.
At the end of the season, Cross was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team after starting 10 games.
Cross earned a preseason second-team All-SEC selection entering his redshirt sophomore season as one of the best offensive lineman prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft. Interestingly, he foregoes his final years of eligibility in December 2021 to enter the NFL Draft in 2022.
