Jahan Walte Dotson is an American football wide receiver who plays for the Washington Commanders of the NFL (National Football League). He was born on the 22nd day of March 2000 to his father, Al Dotson, and mother, Robin Dotson, in Newark, New Jersey.

Jahan Dotson Early Years:

Dotson started his football career while attending Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. After his freshman and sophomore years, he went to Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, to complete his junior year.

The young lad soon returned to his first school to complete his senior years. He was exceptional at Nazareth and set some school records for receiving yards (2,755), receiving touchdowns (40) and receptions (187).

Originally, Dotson committed to play college football for the University of California, Los Angeles, but later changed his commitment to Penn State University.

College Career:

Dotson started four of the eight games he played as a true freshman at Penn State in 2018 and amassed 13 receptions for 203 yards. He started all 13 games as a sophomore and had 27 receptions for 488 yards and five touchdowns.

In his junior year (2020), Dotson became Penn State’s top receiver. He became the third Big Ten player to score a punt return touchdown and 100 receiving yards in the same game since the 12th of December, 2000.

The young player was selected as the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Washington Commanders. One month after the draft, Dotson signed a four-year rookie contract worth $15 million.

Sadly, the athlete’s family has been faced with great distress as his mom began battling cancer for the second time after remission for 2 years. Robin Dotson was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and is currently (as of 2022) undergoing treatment.

Despite undergoing chemotherapy, the wide receiver’s mother still made an effort to attend some of her son’s games. She was first diagnosed with the ailment in 2019 and underwent a stem cell transplant, which helped her regain her health until the disease reappeared again in 2022.

As I write this biography, Dotson’s mom is receiving serious treatment and undergoing aggressive chemo. We hope she beats the disease again.
